Senator Dick Durbin recently asked “What is Freedom of the Press?”
Seriously??
Has this guy taken the time to read the US Constitution?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What part of “press” doesn’t Democrat Senator Dick Durbin get?
Back when the Founding Fathers wrote the Declaration, they understood that press included pamphleteers, who were the tweeters, Facebooker’s and bloggers of the day.
Yet Dick Durbin, who’s been in office more than 15 years hasn’t quite figured it out yet.
Pathetic
Do you still believe in the First Amendment and that it applies to all?

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived. — George S. Patton

Earlier this week President Barack Obama reaffirmed his intention to continue the use of Predator drones to seek and kill enemy combatants who pose a continuing and imminent threat to the USA.
But what about the 4 American citizens killed by drones without due process?
Should the USA kill American citizens abroad or even spy on American citizens here without first giving them a day in court?

The County of Orange has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by former Sheriff candidate Lt Bill Hunt for almost $ 2 Million according to the OC Register.
Bill Hunt was demoted to patrol duty after he waged an unsuccessful campaign for Sheriff against Mike Corona who is currently serving a 66 month sentence in a Colorado Federal prison for witness tampering and conspiracy.
Bill Hunt announced during his runs for Sheriff that he would make Orange County California’s first “Shall Issue” county.
Mr Hunt currently owns and operates his own private investigation company .

After 8 long years, Los Angeles long nightmare is almost over.
Last night Eric Garcetti was elected Mayor of Los Angeles by 182,000 voters out of 3.8 million residents. He faces almost insurmountable challenges such as streets that look worse than war zones, huge budget deficits, and huge blighted swaths of cityscape.
Los Angeles residents were pelted with almost 33 million dollars worth of mail, billboards and radio & TV advertising.
Can Eric Garcetti rise to the challenge and restore Los Angeles to its former greatness or is it too late for LA and California?

With time running out, President Barack Obama has ramped up the fear tactics on the impending sequester. Massive teacher layoffs, planes falling from the sky’s, massive releases of hardened criminals from prisons and other impending doom as both Barack Obama and his spokespeople would have us believe.
The agreed to spending cuts are only $44 billion out of a total Federal budget of $3.6 billion. That’s still an increase in spending over last years Federal budget of $3.5 billion.
The White House Office of Management & Budget claims the sequester will slice $2 million out of the $20 million budget belonging to the National Drug Intelligence Center. Sounds scary until we dig deeper and find out that program was closed in 2012. Their duties have been absorbed by the DEA and they only requested $8 million of the former $20 million budget to run the same programs.
And despite Barack Obama claiming otherwise, the whole idea of spending cuts were his idea as part of the deal to raise taxes and increase the debt limit back in August 2012. He has been quoted repeatedly as saying we needed a balanced approach of “revenue increases” and spending cuts.
Republicans met Barack Obama half way on tax increases and Barack Obama signed off on agreed too spending cuts.
This President has no one to blame but himself.

This evening the Garden Grove City Council will be discussing an item that would reduce the amount of time for public comment.
Staff reports state “An inordinate amount of time is devoted to public comment, often of a repetitive nature.”
The Council seeks to cut the time per speaker from 5 minutes to 3 minutes.
I’ve heard from several residents and community leaders who state that they plan on objecting to the proposal at this evenings meeting which starts at 6:30.
Do you think the Council will place limits on speakers or find a better way to do the people’s business without limiting the people’s input?
