Pauly Bashes Carona Supporters Unless They Donate to Her Campaign
Posted by HBK on May 31, 2012
I want you all to know that I tried to stay away from the blog. I really did. Nguyen and Emami begged me to blog about something other than the 3rd District Supervisors race, Deborah Pauly just made me have to jump back on here with some of her latest hypocrisy. I promise to keep it short and not go on some sort of long diatribe.
Deborah Pauly loves to rail on the corruption that was rampant in the Republican Party during the process of the Carona endorsement back in 2004. I actually agree with her on this particular point, however, she then proceeds to link Todd Spitzer to the evil Carona regime.
Pauly failed to mention one of her largest donors is Mike Schroeder the spokesman for Mike Carona. Through the course of the entire election Pauly has raised $23,468 and $1,800 of that amount comes from Mike Schroeder. That means that over 7.5% of her entire campaign funding comes from former Carona spokesperson Mike Schroeder.
Dare I say, hypocrisy?
I promise that this will be my last post on this issue, and I look forward to writing about other issues that are going on throughout the County soon.

Jon Fleischman was Carona’s spokesman; Schroeder is an adviser at best.

Dan Chmielewski is 100% correct. Sheriff Corona’s spokesman was Jon Fleischman whose title was Deputy Director for Public Affairs for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. (Fleischman supports the RINO Rep. John Campbell who voted the wrong way on DADT and TARP.)
Ironically, Sheriff Corona was caught on tape putting down Fleishman, saying: “I just think he (Fleischman) was a moron on his best day.” See, Liberal OC, November 17, 2008.
From personal perspective, I can report that the same people who supported Sheriff Corona – after it was clear he was a crook who was cheating on his wife – are now rallying around Todd Spitzer.

I’m sorry John, but DADT was bad policy and there is no reason why gay/lesbians cannot serve in the Armed Forces; they have all along and criminalizing someone’s sexuality when they seek to serve their country is wrong.
Say want you want about TARP, but there was no private investment coming in to save the economy. When the economy falters as it did in 2008, it is the responsibility of the Federal Government to step in and help right the ship. TARP was a Bush program.

Dan: When I was a young track athlete at Occidental College, long before I met young Obama, I was “inspected” by a gay track coach. I’ve never forgotten the experience.
I don’t think it is fair to ask men to serve along side those who see them as sexual objects. It’s like forcing women to shower with men. Please show a little empathy for those of us who understand it is wrong to have gays serve in the military.
I used to teach political economy at the top liberal arts school in the nation, Williams College. You are dead wrong about TARP. I predicted the failure of the stimulus package. Today, unemployment creeped up from 8.1% to 8.2%. Democrats are failing us in terms of the economy and polls show most people believe Republicans would do a better job with the economy.
The bottom line is that most voters in Orange County share my views, not yours. Liberal Republicans like Fleischman support Rep. Campbell even though Campbell is out of touch with our district.
