Please save the date and plan to attend the next Anaheim City Council Meeting TOMORROW – Tuesday, March 6. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.

The Anaheim GardenWalk hotel project and discussion related to reversing the project is on the agenda. S.O.A.R. recognizes that this has been a difficult and divisive issue for our community and we respect the positions of all of the council members. However, this project was already approved and signed, and we would like to see the council move forward with other pressing issues of the city.

S.O.A.R. will continue to demonstrate its support of this issue for the following reasons:
1. The proposed GardenWalk hotels will bring two new “four-star,” high-end hotels to the Anaheim market, attracting additional conventions to Anaheim. 2. This project will create 3,200 construction jobs and will create more than 1,300 permanent jobs once the hotels are open. 3. Because of this agreement, the project will increase city revenues, approximately $3.5 million in the first year and will increase every year thereafter, providing more opportunities for employees to work and generating additional tax revenue from visitors for city services. 4. The estimated fiscal impact of this project is $4.4 billion in revenue to the Anaheim economy over 20 years. 5. Building these hotels will create an immediate $280 million dollar investment in our community. This will be one of the largest private sector led construction projects in California.
