Honor our Military
Memorial Day, Monday, May 28
Please Join NOCCC on Thursday, May 17 at 7:00PM as we honor our military by welcoming Colonel Michael P. Chené to bring us up to date on the Middle East: The war in Afghanistan, the progress in Iraq, the state of the Arab Spring — how they are all inter-related and their effect the United States.
With special introduction by Gulf War Veteran and Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel JD Pauly. Q & A will follow talk.

Colonel Michael P. Chené
Assistant Chief of Staff G-3, Marine Forces Pacific
Colonel Chené graduated from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, CA in 1982. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in December 1982.
A career Infantry Officer, his command billets include 3 Platoon Commands, 4 Company Commands & 1 Battalion Command. His staff assignments include 2 Logistic Officer billets, 2 Company Executive Officer billets, Battalion Operations Officer, Battalion Executive Officer, Inspector General and his current billet as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, Marine Forces Pacific.
Colonel Chené has deployed overseas 6 times covering 6 Continents, 47 countries with two combat tours (Iraq & Somalia).
Colonel Chené’s decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star, the Combat Action Ribbon and the Military Outstanding Service Medal.
Colonel Chené is married to the former Julienne Moen & they have five children; Kimberly, Jordan, Nicole, Jessica & Adam.
