Oh, and Chris, you really shouldn't take stuff that Doug Davert sent you as gospel. I mean, he's up to his neck in alligators with TBN isn't he?

It is interesting to note that the mailer came from a shill organization calling themselves "Tustin Residents United". The address is a Mailbox Etc. type P.O. When you look at TRU's financial statements, the only ones contributing is the Orange County Business Council's BIZPAC. TRU also has a contribution on behalf of John Nieslen and the address of record is the same as the address for the political treasurer for Nielsen, Bernstein and Puckett. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put the dots together as to where the hit pieces came from.

The hit pieces themselves are a combination of half-truths and outright lies. For example, Waldram's "big" political contributor is Tustin School Board member Lynne Davis. The hit pieces say that Davis sued the city. Not exactly true. The School District sued the city. I suppose if we look at the record, you would find that Davis voted to sue. But, saying he sued the city is a stretch to say the least, especially when the consensus is, Nielsen and Amante are the ones that pushed the law suits by countersuing and even losing one of the lawsuits already.

Nielsen says on his website that he signed the Fair Campaign Practice forms. The City Clerk did not have a record of that as of two weeks ago when I inquired. I guess it;s OK to put out garbage like this when you have your fingers crossed.
